Blueberry Coconut Bandera Bar
Peanut Butter Chocolate Chunk Bandera Bar

Coconut is used in our energy bar. This helps to slow down the release of glucose, in turn requiring less insulin to utilize the glucose that transport it into the cell. At that point, it is converted into energy (a quick energy boost that provides a quality nutritious source of additional energy).  The body uses the coconut to produce energy rather than store it as body fat.  Coconut supports improved endurance during physical activity. Coconut also promotes healthy thyroid function and helps to relieve the symptoms of chronic fatigue. Lastly, Coconut helps to aid and support overall immune system function; which is critical, as your immune system is most vulnerable when you are physically active.

Blueberries have the highest antioxidant capacity of all fruit. Blueberries also boost your immune system and help to prevent infections. This is vital during physical activity because this is when the immune system is most vulnerable. Studies have shown that consuming blueberries can prevent soreness from exercise. The complex carbohydrates found in blueberries are slow digesting which means the carbohydrates will stay in your system for an extended period of time. These factors play a crucial role in sustaining endurance during physical activity.

Dates are rich in magnesium, which is a mineral known for its anti-inflammatory benefits. This benefit allows for better and faster recovery after and during physical activity.

Whey Protein Isolate

Whey Protein Isolate contains a rich source of naturally occurring branched-chain amino acids.  This is extremely important for a person with an active lifestyle.  Whey Protein Isolate is the purest form of protein which has little to no fat or cholesterol. Whey Protein Isolate is comprised of essential and non-essential amino acids; these amino acids are the building blocks for healthy bodies. Protein has a number of different roles in the human body such as repairing cells, aiding to build and repair muscles and facilitating in the production of energy. The human body demands enormous quantities of these amino acids during and after physical activity because these amino acids are in high demand for the body to perform optimally. This is why consuming Whey Protein Isolate during and after physical activity is important to help the body replenish the amino acids that are depleted during exercise.

Whey Protein Crisps

Whey Protein Crisps are similar to rice crisps but are made with whey protein and cornstarch. Rice crisps are made with rice paste and sugar. Sugar turns into fructose which is the most harmful of all sweeteners. Whey Crisps bypass the unhealthy additives and simply put the protein you need in an easily digestible vessel.

Flaxseed Oil

Flaxseed Oil contains omega-3 essential fatty acids, which are classified as good fats. Studies have shown that flaxseed oil has heart healthy effects. Living an active lifestyle requires a healthy heart which is why this incredible ingredient has been included in the BANDERA BAR.

Organic Oats

Organic Oats contain good complex carbohydrates and some protein. Oats are a good source of vitamins and minerals such as thiamin, folic acid, biotin and vitamin E. These all have a positive effect on the immune system.

Brown Rice Syrup

Brown Rice Syrup is a sweetener made from brown rice.  Many people have started avoiding fructose and refined sugars and have turned to fructose-free sweeteners. Brown Rice Syrup is a fructose-free sweetener, which is comprised of glucose. Brown Rice Syrup contains three sugars: maltotriose (52%), maltose (45%) and glucose (3%). Maltose is just two glucose molecules and maltotriose is three glucose molecules. By the time Brown Rice Syrup reaches your small intestine and gets broken down, it is basically 100% glucose. Brown Rice Syrup is made by breaking down the starch in cooked brown rice; turning it into easily digestible sugars. Every cell in the body can metabolize glucose; fructose (refined sugars) can only be metabolized by the liver. Fructose refined sugar gets turned into fat, which either lodges in the liver (causing fatty liver and insulin resistance) or is shipped out, raising blood triglycerides. There is no harmful fructose in Brown Rice Syrup, which is why we prefer this sweetener to other harmful sweeteners on the market.
